What is your favorite topic to blog about and why?
I love to write about traveling because I feel like most people think they can’t afford to travel or it is an unattainable luxury. I don’t travel lavishly – I travel for the experience and I love to inspire others to do so as well. You can stay at a 5-star resort or a $10 a day hostel on the beach and make amazing memories either way. I love to show people the brighter side of traveling and how they can get the most out of their adventure.
What are some of your blog photography tips?
I get a lot of questions about photography! I started my career as a photographer and videographer so I feel like it helped push my blog to the next level and captures people’s attention. The light, bright media has become part of my brand. My #1 photography tip is make natural light your friend! Try not to blow-out or overexpose your photos. I like to utilize editing tools, but I never over edit with tons of filters. My favorite photo editing app is A Color Story. Keep it bright, clean & natural!
What are some Clever tips for planning out/organizing your posts every week?
I use Producteev an app that lets me connect with my helpers behind the scenes to delegate and make sure tasks get done. Anytime I have an idea for a post I jot it down in my Producteev app to keep it in mind for a potential post. Sometimes it is hard to be your own boss and Netflix binges take over your life, but stay focused and start with a manageable schedule. If you can only post once a week or even once a month give that post your best! Build your way up to posting 2-3 times a week so that you don’t burn yourself out!
How did you start blogging?
I started blogging on a whim. I didn’t tell anyone about it or advertise it much. I just used it as a creative outlet to post my travel tips, style, and fun recipes. I have always been a creative person who loves celebrating life to the fullest so it was natural to want to share my life and inspire others with all of my adventures. I feel so fortunate that I have had so many people follow along my journey! It has been so amazing to watch Think Elysian grow. I never expected to make a career out of blogging, but I am so grateful to be doing something I love!
